Crane Inspector
CBIP-certified new-construction and in-service inspections for fixed, travelling, mobile, and specialised lifting equipment. I assess structural components, wire ropes, hoist mechanisms, controls, and safety systems to help ensure equipment remains compliant, safe, and fit for service.
Equipment covered includes overhead travelling, goliath, semi-goliath, and monorail cranes; mobile cranes; reach stackers and telehandlers; container handlers and straddle carriers and truck-loader cranes.
Pressure Equipment Inspector
CBIP-certified statutory design-verification, commissioning, and in-service inspections for pressure equipment, including specialist heritage steam plant. I assess structural integrity, corrosion and degradation, safety devices, and ongoing fitness for service in line with PECPR Regulations and applicable New Zealand standards.
Equipment covered includes steam and hot-water boilers, pressure vessels and piping, steam engines and turbines, steam locomotive boilers, traction engines, riveted boilers, and other heritage steam equipment.
Passenger Ropeways
CBIP-certified statutory in-service inspections for passenger ropeways, assessing structural, mechanical, and safety-critical systems to confirm continued fitness for public use.
Equipment covered includes chairlifts and gondola lifts, T-bars, platters and rope tows, cableways and aerial ropeway systems, plus haul ropes, towers, and terminal machinery.
EWP Inspector
CBIP-certified statutory six-monthly in-service inspections for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). I assess structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to confirm equipment remains safe and fit for continued use under AS/NZS 1418.10 and AS 2550.10.
Equipment covered includes articulating and telescopic boom lifts, scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts, and truck- or vehicle-mounted platforms.
Welding and NDT Inspector
Qualified welding inspector (CWI) and ISO 9712 Level 2 non-destructive testing services for structural steel, pressure equipment, lifting equipment, and fabricated components. I review welding procedures, welder qualifications, and consumables; carry out visual weld inspection; and assess defects against relevant acceptance criteria.
Ultrasonic testing helps identify internal flaws, corrosion, and wall loss without damaging the component. Magnetic particle testing detects surface and near-surface discontinuities, including cracks and lack of fusion, in ferromagnetic materials.
